Massage is a therapy that has been used for centuries as a way to relieve muscle tension and to relax the body and mind. Swedish massage uses a combination of stroking, kneading, pressure and flowing movements over the body to treat and prevent a variety of complaints, or can simply be used for deep relaxation. Massage also helps to stimulate the lymphatic system, assisting your body in the elimination of stored toxins helping to strengthen your immune system.
Massage at Osteo and Physio is tailored to the individual. Sessions last from half an hour to an hour depending on what the client wants and on the nature of any problem they present with. The depth of the massage and the techniques used are also adjusted accordingly. The sole aim of the treatment is to get you feeling revitalised, rejuvinated and leaving the practice tension free.
Massage can be used in conjunction with the osteopathy and physiotherapy provided at the practice. Our practitioners sometimes refer (with the consent of the patient) to each other if they feel that a probelm can be resolved more effectively by using a combination of therapy’s.
