Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine

Acupuncture is a form of healthcare which has evolved over the last 2,000 years into a complete and holistic medical system. By placing fine sterile needles at specific locations on the body an acupuncturist promotes natural healing by enhancing immunity, and physical and emotional wellbeing.

Practitioners of Traditional Chinese Medicine diagnose and treat a wide range of chronic and acute health problems. Chinese herbal medicine takes a holistic approach to understanding normal function and disease processes and focuses as much on the prevention of illness as on the treatment.

Your first visit

On your first visit Francis will make a full assessment of your health. Once he has done this he will develop a personalised treatment plan which may include either acupuncture or Chinese medicine, or a combination of both therapies.

Who does it suit?

The therapies are suitable for all. As well as treating specific conditions, they can also be used to maintain good health and wellbeing.

What sort of conditions can be treated by acupuncture and Chinese Medicine?

  • Fertility issues (women and men)
  • IVF support
  • Women’s reproductive health
  • Menopause
  • Allergies
  • Skin conditions (including eczema)
  • Insomnia and fatigue
  • Loss of appetite and common digestive disorders
  • Constipation, diarrhoea and IBS

How many treatments will I need?

Once you have been assessed, you will be given a suggested treatment plan. With Chinese medicine you will be prescribed a Chinese herbal formula that specifically matches and treats your individual health problem. As your condition changes and improves, the herbal treatment is also adjusted and modified until the desired health outcome is achieved.
